1. Are your cameras genuine manufacturers' products?
Yes, they are. We sell only cameras manufactured by leading brand manufacturers. All cameras come with manuals, software and other original items typically included in the manufacturer's factory-supplied pack, unless otherwise specified. Menu controls and screen displays are in English.

2. Local Pickup – Remate Fotografico allows you to pick up from us! If you want to pickup from our office and warehouse that is ok, but as we are a ecommerce business we do not operate a retail store, this is so we can keep prices low. If you come to our address below it should be only after getting your order confirmed via our website so we can have the items ready.

3. Are your cameras new?
Yes, they are, unless otherwise stated.


4. Are your cameras genuine manufacturers' products?

Yes, they are. We sell only cameras manufactured by leading brand manufacturers.  All cameras come with software and other original items typically included in the manufacturer's factory-supplied pack, unless otherwise specified. Menu controls and screen displays are in English or are easily changed to English. As we source our cameras in some countries where English Manuals may not be readily supplied, you will receive an English PDF version in the event no printed English manual is available. 

‘SLR Body only’ orders may be supplied in ‘camera lens kit’ boxes with lens removed. See FAQ for details.
 

5. Are all cameras that we sell the same as I can buy in my country?
Yes. There is no camera model made especially for one market. In this globalised world, all cameras and photographic accessories are made side-by-side in the same factories for the world market. Sometimes, manufacturers do sell the same model under different names. For example, a Canon 550D is known in the US as Rebel T2i and in Japan, it is sold as a Kiss X4, but these are same camera. On occasion, included accessories with a camera we sell may differ. For example, the battery chargers we sell are universal and will work whatever the voltage. We provide a list of included accessories with each camera model we sell. We try with our best efforts to source products with similar specifications, if not the same as ones purchased locally. However, as we try to offer as competitive pricing as possible for our items, some products will be sourced without a local specification charger and manual. Please be reassured however, we will provide you with an adapter to fit your local power supply.

 

6. Do I have to pay import tax/duty on the item? If so, how much?
For items that are shipped internationally you may be charged import tax/duty when you receive the item, depending on your country. This will be your responsibility to pay upon delivery, Unfortunately we are not able to estimate the amount of import tax/fees for specific goods as each country has its own rules.  For more on Customs Click Here

 

7. Can I claim rebates or cashbacks offered by the manufacturer in my country?
No. Cashbacks are typically offered by the manufacturers' branches in each country and apply only to the items they themselves imported. As we do not buy our stock from them, our customers are not entitled to claim on any such cashback offers. We do factor in these offers in our pricing.


8. What about warranties?
All our products come with a warranty. Please see here. In general digital SLRs and most point-and-shoot cameras do not come with  manufacturer’s international warranties regardless of where you got the item. They usually come with country specific warranties only. So if you bought a camera in the country where you live, then the manufacturer will provide the warranty in your country but if you went on holiday or moved to another country, the camera would not be covered by manufacturers warranty.

All our products that are not covered by a manufacturer’s worldwide warranty come with a parts and labour warranty, with the period dependent on the specific product. Cameras have a 12 month warranty, and batteries 3 month. Where we are the warrantor, you must return your purchases to us for in-warranty repairs. You should clear up any warranty questions you may have before purchasing. Should an item you purchase from us have a manufacturer defect within 7 days of receipt, the item will be replaced. You must contact us by filling in the RMA form (In your account – when you log in) and wait to hear back from us before sending anything back.


9. What about the negative statements that have been made about parallel or 'grey' imports?
We believe that most of such comments are unwarranted, sometimes even false, and sometimes used to scare consumers. Parallel imports are called 'grey imports' by some to suggest some illegality about the origin of the products offered for sale. Factually, parallel imports simply refer to items that have been imported outside of the authorized distribution network in a particular country. It does not imply that the item is illegally sourced.


10. How do you select which cameras to stock?
We sell only branded cameras. We keep up with the newest innovations in the digital camera market and selects from the latest products available in the global market. We typically stock the latest models that are the best in their class. Call us if you are interested in knowing what is coming up next in the marketplace.


11. How can we trust buying from you?
We have been in the camera business since 2004. We have an excellent reputation as a reliable, honest and reputable seller worldwide. We are transparent and the street address of our business is displayed on our web-site. You can call us directly to verify any information you need.
